PENDAHULUAN :

Sebagai salah satu kinerja perfomansi suatu perusahaan manufaktur moderen saat ini adalah cepat tanggapnya sistem pelaksanaan perawatan yang diakibatkan adanya perubahan dan perkembangan fasilitas pabrik yang dirancang sedemikian rupa kompkleks dengan sasaran untuk menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas tinggi dan cepat. Setelah mesin dipakai dalam selang waktu tertentu maka keausan yang terjadi karena beberapa faktor  menyebabkan kerusakan komponen-komponen pada mesin perkakas. Misal, deformasi karena gaya pemotongan dapat menimbulkan gejala gerakan yang tersendat-sendat (stick-slip) pada gerakan pindah berbagai komponen, menimbulkan keadaan getaran paksa dan kesalahan dinamik pada konstruksi mesin perkakas.

Bagi perawat mesin perkakas yang tidak tanggap dan tidak ahli, kerusakan yang kecil pun bisa menjadi sumber frustasi dan mungkin pula dapat menambah parahnya kerusakan. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan tim perawat yang ahli. Tim perawat bisa terlibat pula sewaktu diadakan instalasi mesin baru, tes penerimaan mesin, perawatan preventif dan rekalibrasi mesin.

Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Teknologi Perawatan Mesin.

was graduated from politeknik  universitas brawijaya malang for his diploma in mechanical engineering majoring on mechanical maintenance and repairing, from ITS Surabaya for his bachelor in mechanical engineering majoring on production engineering, and from ITB Bandung for his master program in mechanical engineering majoring on production engineering. Now he is as lecturer at mechanical engineering Politeknik Negeri Bandung(before as poltek ITB). Ir. Sugeng Isdwiyanudi, MT. has followed many trainings/courses to improve his competence.
